William B. Logan Memoriam

On June 28, 2016, the Craft lost RWB William B. Logan, Deputy Grand Master of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina.  RWB Logan was first initiated into Masonry July 12, 1968, in Matthews Lodge #358, AFM, and was elected to serve his Lodge as Worshipful Master in 1973.  He served in the office of Chaplain for his Lodge, as well, at the time of his death.  RWB Logan served the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina as District Deputy Grand Master for the Eleventh District, Grand Marshal, Chairman of the Masonic Service Association Committee and Chairman of the Masonic Relief Committee.   He was elected and served as Junior Grand Warden from 2011-2013, elected and served as Senior Grand Warden from 2013-2015 and was elected and served as Deputy Grand Master from 2015 until his death.  He was in line to be installed as the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in South Carolina in April, 2017.  Brother Bill received the Distinguished Frederick Dalcho Certificate of Merit, the Grand Lodge’s second highest Masonic Award in 1999 by Grand Master, D. Samuel Tennyson, Sr.  In 2005, Right Worshipful Bill received the Prestigious Albert Gallatin Mackey Medal, the Grand Lodge’s highest Masonic Award, by Grand Master, Jack A. Marler.  One of the pillars of Masonry has fallen, and he will be greatly missed.
